I haven't had much hobby time lately but I did manage to finish putting together a couple of 1:64 Death Proof cars.

Nice work! Were you able to use a non-SS Nova, or did you have to modify the hood and fenders?

They look great, i've always wanted to do a real Death Proof Nova as a daily driver. Here are mine but my Charger is the Chase Car.

Yes it is a Johnny Lightning Nova SS. I modified the hood but didn't alter the fenders. It was yellow so I scuffed up the paint making it easy to cover
with a few coats of semi-flat black. This way the original paint becomes the primer. As long as the original color is lighter than the new .....no worries.
I used to strip them bare but not any more. I covered the front grill and rear bumper and lights with a little "Vasaline" and rubbed it off after
painting so they remained the original colors and detail. I remember hearing about guys putting "Vasaline" on their tires before painting their rims
on 1:1 cars. I wanted to try this in smaller scale and it actually worked! The rims are from a different JL car that matched the movie car better. The little
duck on the hood is just a filed down head of a pin. The little duck is way too small in this scale but I didn't want to leave it out completely.
