Posts: 955 11/29/09 8:15 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	AP,nice collection!Is this your own collection?!Like Lee said,now all you need is the real full size "Black Beauty"Car to go with it!They have never re-issued the Aurora Slot Car "BB" to my knowledge,but you can still find it on Ebay every so often,the BZ "BB"has been re-issued,Dan 'JR'Goodman was offering it on WWW.KATOMAN.COM,I know the Aurora 1967 hobby kit has been re-issued twice by Polar Lights,and Corgi re-issued it's 1967 diecast.There have been one,or more,1:25 scale resin kits of "BB" on the market at various times.Now we are all waiting eagerly with great excitement for the new upcoming highly detailed 1:18 scale diecast version "BB"!

The original BZ slot car release according to one source states that body-supplier Lancer did not deliver more than 1000 pressings to BZ, sales plummeted when the TV show was canceled as the model was issued. There was a repro BZ produced and numbers indicate perhaps only 20 were made.

Posts: 955 11/29/09 1:40 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Lee,everyone knows,or should know, that the very best and ultimate versions[as far as highly detailed models go], of "The Black Beauty"Car,and of the Chrysler 300 White Convertible Car,are the two that were used on "The Green Hornet" T.V.Series for the special effect scene of when the two cars flip over attached to the false secret garage floor,they were very large,and very well detailed,studio models.They must have cost a fortune to build,and to make.I would assume that they are stored away now at 20Th Century-Fox's prop department,or that the prop makers of the show have them,or that they were sold to a private collector.These are the CLOSEST you can get to the real,full-size cars from the T.V.Show.

Posts: 2022 11/29/09 6:29 PM TV Black Beauty Owner *HORNET HIVE* Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	The TV used models were made by the expert model builders at Aurora Modeling in exchange for the rights to produce the styrene kit in 1966. I think 3 models were made and were supposed to be returned to Aurora when they were finished using them. All three are in private collections of which none of the current owners wants to reveal photos or exchange any correspondence. As I understand they have no interest in selling, showing or photographing the cars for any amount of money. Click The Real Black Beauty History!

Posts: 955 11/30/09 12:07 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	V194,very interesting information concerning the very large very highly detailed models of "The Black Beauty" and the Chrysler 300 White Convertible Cars used for special effects scenes on "The Green Hornet" T.V.Series.I was not aware that the hobby kit company,Aurora,was involved in making them for the Fox Studio in return for rights granted to them by Fox for producing their own small scale mass market hobby kit version of BB.They must have followed Studio Blueprint Specifications when it came to producing the ones seen on the T.V.Show to get them that perfect.Too bad the current owners will not allow them to be photographed for any amount of money.

Well, it's STILL on the net!! It may not seem like much, but to anyone who's ever tried to build one of these bad boys up themselves, I find it quite impressive that he made the effort to make an already challenging kit to build even more challenging. Posts: 955 11/30/09 12:17 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Grant,thank you for the link showing how a first issue[second issue includes chrome parts], Polar Lights hobby kit of the T.V."Black Beauty" Car was put together and painted.Nice job!This is the official re-issue of the 1966-1967 Aurora hobby kit[both original,and re-issue kits,are in the small 1/35 scale size.] I have the original Aurora release version.

Posts: 955 02/04/10 12:10 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Nice job,willy!I put together,painted,glued,an original 1967 Aurrora first-issue 1/35 scale plastic hobby kit of "The Black Beauty"Car,and have the Corgi diecast re-issue with the metal painted "Kato"figure.If anyone can help me,I can post photos of both here.Like everyone else,I too dream of, and want,a full-scale 1:18 diecast highly-detailed version of "Black Beauty"[1966-67 T.V.Version/2010 movie version],perhaps because of the upcoming 2010 movie,and the Fan Web Series,this will finally become a reality this year,let's hope so!

Posts: 623 02/13/10 5:48 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I really enjoyed seeing the Speed Racer stuff!! I was actually able to get two of those cars here in Finland!! The two "pull backs." There was also a die cast of the original cartoon version of the car a friend bought me around the same time. It was advertised being in the line of stores that carried the pull backs, but I could not locate a shop that had in it stock. Ended up being special ordered. It will be inteteresting seeing what is brought over here concerning the merch that should be coming out soon starting in October, but that question's probably for another thread!! Peace!! GG

Some parts of the film brought back some nice memories, but not something I would own, or recommend, though. Even though I'm not into cars, outside of hopefully having a copy of the Serial BB, I wouldn't mind having a decent version of the cartoon Racer X car and a remote control cartoon Mach five. And even though I've never really been into the 60's BB, I may have mentioned this before, but would probably own a copy of this better, more detailed die-cast in honor of all V 194, aka Carl, has done with BB II Oh, I do have a little collection of "pull backs" I have unintentionally ended up collecting FWIW, I have a Lois Lane in a red car a friend sent me years ago as part of some type of child's fast-food hamburger meal. A few years ago I ended up with a "The Incredibles" guy, first costume, in a car as part of a MacDonald's Happy Meal, then the two Speed Racers when the film came out. When organising a few things a little over a year ago, I found Lois again and then realised I actually had a fun collection of the little guys!! Posts: 955 02/13/10 6:53 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I used to have loads of HotWheels and MatchBox miniature cars and vehicles,I have always liked diecast cars,and for a while,was building and painting polystyrene plastic hobby kit cars and vehicles[hot rods,customs,and T.V./Movie related],I have always liked cars and vehicles,and stiil do,I like the 1:18 scale size for diecast best.I can skip on the BB from the two movie serials,but I would like having a very highly detailed 1:18 scale diecast version of the Black Beauty Car from the T.V.Show,and maybe,possibly,a 1:18 scale diecast of BB from the 2010 movie.
