Hi Dreamer,
Could you please give us more info on this car. Who built it ect. Larger pictures would also allow us to get a better look. Thanks for searching. |

That is way cool! Car looks real nice. Great idea to have the car at Jefferys before leaving California. Did you have Dean sign the car? Cant wait for more
pictures. How long from start to finish did the build take?

Yes! I do agree. Very COOL!
Great to see the car sitting in front of Dean's shop. Even better to see Dean with a Monkeemobile .
It would be so nice if he still had one of the cars. |

Your car will be worth by Dean signed your replica, awesome. He signed Herbie as being my favorite car customizer and never taken credit on other Hollywood
Cars. I know he didn't work on The Love Bug but he's a Hollywood Car Customizer. Full Story here : http://thecaveboard.yuku.com/topic/6381

Florida Monkeemobile goes to Daytona
|
Hi everyone, This is Michael owner of the Florida car. Last weekend I drove out to the beach and took the following pictures at Daytona. I found out that if
you do not want to talk to people you do not want to drive this car. At every stop someone rolls down thier window and asks about it or takes a picture it is a
blast.
Thats all for now.

Looks great! Thanks for sharing those pictures and clearing up some things! I wonder how many of the current cars have functional side quad-pipes?
A couple of questions, the car seen at the Cow Palace show contained parts from the #2 Monkeemobile which were taken off during it's upgrade. When you acquired this car were these parts included? If so does your car contain the original #2 upholstery, (seats signed by Barris), or did you have them fabricated new. What about the front grills, were they repainted and installed or did you also have them installed new. What other components taken from the #2 car came with your car at purchase or were acquired afterwards? Also any plans for a door graphic? or would that pose some legal copyright issue? I would think a removable vinyl applique of some sort woud look great at shows/events and it could be removed for your "everday" use. |

Hi and thank you for the comment. The car has new upholstery made from stock that Dean Jefferries had saved from the 60s. As far as the door graphic, I am not
to worried about legalities and have thought about vinyl for shows, however being a long time Monkee fan I kind of like the look without, after all they were
not on the original car's in season one or for that matter never in the opening credit shot, so I still need to give it some thought. Once again thank you
for the complement on my car, after waiting 36 years to own one it is so nice to have such great response from everyone.

Michael, I think it is terrific that you are out and about with your Monkeemobile! I am one that can absolutely relate and appreciate the attention you are
experiencing! Your car turned out fantastic. You should be very proud. I am impressed that you can have the exhaust come out from the side or the rear.
Wow!! Other than being fans of the car and the show, our cars both have parts from the same original car. Very cool. Not sure what we would call that...?
But very cool! I hope you have a great season with your new wheels. Mel
PS: Daytona seems like a wonderful place to take your car. |

Wow! For me. this is one of the moments that make all the years at the Monkeemobile Group & operating the "Monkeemobile Garage" all worth it. To
have two owners, or should I say "fans" in one post is fantastic. Michael's car is very unique. Almost
an offspring of the original. Maybe we could say, "Son of Monkeemobile"
As for all the attention, in the few short hours that my buddy Tim and I had curishing around with Mel last summer, attention is not the word for it. Just be ready to smile and wave boys, smile and wave! (Thanks Mel!!) I look forward to making a trip down to see Michael's car in person sometime this year. It helps having family in his part of the country.
Great pictures! Not too many moms can say they were out "Monkeeing around" on Mother's Day .

Hey everyone
Just got back from a weekend cruise to the beach on the Atlantic side. As always you can not believe how many people stopped by to talk about the car as I stopped at different spots along the coast hwy, it really is a blast. I will add a few pics in a day or so. The next event I am gearing up for is the Williston 4th of July parade, a real small hometown event. I imagine the car will be a big topic of conversation in the town. That's about all for now. Update July 2009.
|
Hey hey everyone.
Well just as we were going to leave for the Williston 4th of July Parade. A huge thunderstorm came through. And as you know Monkeemobiles and rain do not mix. Maybe next year. I did make out to the gulf side below are pis from Ceder Key. We also managed to get over to the Atlantic side for a run to St.Augustine, that's the St. Augustine light house in the backround. My wife Libby and I were very happy to have another member of the board visit our farm. Paul Adams from Australia. That's Paul with the car our farm. Well I guess that's about all for now. Look forward to other visits by members of the garage. See ya, Michael |
